Daily update is a quick, efficient alternative to synchronous meetings that helps teammates stay on top of work priorities and share wins and concerns. When an Action supports daily updates, the user can invoke an intent and receive a notification at their scheduled time each day. By default, the daily update registration prompt appears as a suggestion chip when the user exits your Action successfully. However, you can also add a mid-conversation registration prompt or personalize the daily updates for users by creating a custom parameter they can submit when they register their daily update.
Daily updates appear as Assistant notifications on the user’s mobile device, so it’s important to make them meaningful. Provide a good amount of context when prompting the user to subscribe to your daily updates and avoid overwhelming them with multiple suggestions to do so. Also, consider how the user’s experience will change after they register their daily updates so you can design your conversations accordingly. For example, keep your conversation short after a daily update is triggered. This ensures that users won’t get the same prompt over and over again, which may cause them to unsubscribe.
